We had a great time this Halloween. Gramma Cathy came and trick or treated with us. We did miss seeing Grampa Cobb who usually came to trick or treat with the grandkids, but now lives in Mexico. I enjoyed serving soup, hot chocolate and apple crisp on Halloween, it makes it seem more festive.
As far as trick-or-treating, we just went around the block this year. It is fun to do this in our neighborhood because people decorate their porches and we know everyone out trick or treating and at the houses. This year it was especially nice because it was not cold and the rain stayed away, too. Even Gabe made the rounds, enjoying sucking on the packages of candy and even eating his first lollipop. We used our wagon to pull the boys from house to house.
Then Kaleb and Cathy took the big kids to church for a harvest carnival and I stayed home, put the kids to bed and answered the door. Levi had a great time serving candy to the kids who came by before he went to bed. He even handed out candy to one group who stopped by while I was putting Gabe to bed ( I was only gone about 60 seconds)-lol. I thought that was pretty funny, he was very proud of himself. They must have wondered what was going on that a two-year-old was handling the door by himself!
If you know my house, I was just up the stairs so it was actually quite safe but I found it amusing how pleased he was.
Now onto my favorite time of year: Thanksgiving and then Christmas, which is, of course, the best :)
