Tomorrow Kenzie is turning 7! She is a wonderful daughter, very helpful around the house and diligent about doing her schoolwork. This year has been a big one for her: learning to read, welcoming her second baby brother and really growing up in many ways. She brings us so much joy everyday and I hope that today will be fun for her. We are going to meet up with the grandparents and some cousins, Aunts and Uncles at Red Robin. This is her favorite restaurant and of course, they make the meal fun by singing to the birthday child. She will celebrate with a few friends next week since this weekend is Memorial Day Weekend and we are trying to go camping.
I always feel a little bit nostalgic on each of my kids' birthdays, just remembering their birth and thinking back over the years that God has blessed us with their presence. Hopefully I can pass some of those memories on to them. Kenzie is really growing up and is going to start doing more big girl things with me, such as coming to baby showers with me, making dinner with me and of course the American girls book club which we are hoping to start with some friends this Fall. I am very thankful that I have been blessed with a daughter to share each of these fun things with! We love you Mackenzie!
